Routwo

tonight i made 6 short patch cables to go between the ports and the actual hub…

cut the holes…

hot glued in the ports

shoved it all in there…

he looks good huh?

i tested all the ports once completed, and only one is not working, but they were all working before i installed them. i’ll have to check it later. now all i have to do is the led’s.. but thats for another day. i need to do something about those holes too. i dunno how tho. i’ll come up with something. oh, also i need to get some led weights to hot glue inside the bottom for weight. he’s pretty sturdy now, but it would be better if the bottom was heavy.

artoo-router

so i got an r2-d2 cookie jar from kelloggs from cereal boxes. decided i’m gonna use it as a hub in my living room for xbox’s, internet, etc. so i went and bought a hub at wal-mart tonight. i’m gonna have to make 3" to 4" cables to go from the actual hub ports to ports i am wiring/installing. i’m gonna have to paint the ports the right color, as they are a dirty white color. i also had to cut out some of the inside of artoo to get the hub to fit in. i’ll clean up the lines tomorrow with a dremel and sandpaper.

i still have 2 more holes of the same size to cut [4 more download ports and 1 upload port, 6 ports total]. i should have cut the hole only big enough for the one port. i’ll have to plastic weld in a piece between the two ports that will go in this hole.

then i’ll wire up the link and 100mb/sec led’s and power led. i’ll to red for power, probably blue for link and white for 100. i just don’t know what type of led’s to use. any electrical guys out there help me? how can i figure out what power led’s i need?

family guy movie

dave came over last night and we watched the first half of the new, as-yet-released family guy movie stewie griffin: the untold story. it’s pretty funny sometimes, but it seems to drag on. i think it’s because we’re used to nice, neat half-hour stories. the funny part is that i didn’t even know it was out, or coming out soon. i was looking for this past sunday’s episode and saw an internal release of it. it’s near dvd quality. about the same as all the episodes i have, and the same filesize.

early morning

it’s 0700 and i’ve been at work for an hour. i traded shifts with april putting me on the 0600-1600 shift for today and tomorrow. sometimes i just get burned out working, or esentially being forced to work all teh overtime that falls in the evenings. the extra money is nice, but it’s just a pain, especially when i have things that i would like to do in the afternoons. like today, instead of getting off work at 8 o’clock tonight, go home, eat, watch some tv and go to bed, i’ll be able to go to home depot to get more nails so i can fix some boards on the new fence. i’ll still eat and watch tv, but at least something got done.

also… my front yard needs something. i need to get the driveway extention done. but there is something missing. maybe a big rock or two or something.
