“Hi. I’m in Delaware.”

Today Dad came over and bequeathed to me the two Delaware Punch drinks he’s had since.. well, the date on the bottom of one says 11/15/94, the other: 10/25/94. I popped one in the fridge with hopes of not getting sick when I partook in it’s grapey goodness.

Being non-carbonated, it should be fine.

I retrieved it from the fridge about an hour later.. lifted the tab, and sipped.

*smack*smack*smack*

“Hmmm.. Not bad”, I thought. It tastes exactly how I remember. Kind of like grape Dimetapp. Remember that medicine your mom used to give you when you had a cough due to cold? Remember how she wouldn’t let you chug the bottle? *sigh*

I wish I could taste some new, fresh Delaware Punch, but I’ve never seen it for sale in the stores. Not as long as I can remember, at least.

Alas! Do not fret thirsty friends! Behold the wonderment that is wikipedia.com.

Stores where Delaware Punch is sold
Louisiana
New Orleans area
St. Charles Discount (St. Charles Ave. near Louisiana Ave., New Orleans)
Williams’ Super Market (St. Charles Ave., New Orleans)
Zuppardo’s (New Orleans)
Sav-A-Center (Airline Dr., Metairie)
Guy’s Sandwiches (Magazine Street, New Orleans)

And Tim just happens to be driving through New Orleans on his way to North Carolina in a few weeks… Hmmmmmm.

Also on the list of places that sells Delaware Punch: “Kroger (Barksdale Blvd., Bossier City)”. *sigh*. Not a few blocks from where I used to live.

But, if Tim doesn’t come through, apparently, you might be able to order the concentrate online. Found via this site.

Reasons for ring shopping

I’ve had a couple people email me asking what’s going on, did I propose? No, I have no proposed…yet..

We both know we’re going to get married. We just don’t want to rush it. We both feel we’re still getting to know eachother. It’s coming up on 7 months since we got together, and that, for me espcially, having been married before, is just way too soon. I don’t want to jump into marriage, no matter how sure I am that Jeni is the one i’ve been waiting for my whole life. It’s always been her. Even before we were together.

The reason we’re ring shopping is two-fold [:P] for fun, because it’s romantic and a fun way to spend some time with her, and two, because I don’t want to get her something she’s not really gonna like. She has to wear it, she might as well have something she loves! Yes, she’d love it either way, but this way is better.

Besides, I do plan on proposing formally, at a time and place of my choosing. Probably around [date removed :) ].

Dave got a new toy

Dave picked up a P-51 Mustang PTS r/c plane yesterday. Only $400 for the plane and radio remote. He also got starter and battery today for $100. So, we’ll take it out sometime this week or next weekend. So far he’s just driving it around the street, getting used to the throttle and controls. It also came with simulation software for your PC and you hook the remote up via a cable to practice with. He’s gonna spend a good while practicingandings and take’offs with.

I want one!

//Edit: Shortly after this picture was taken, he was driving it around in the street, it clipped the curb and kareened into the curb where the prop hit it and asploded. All’s well though: he bought a spare prop.

Ring pics.

OK, well, I went to the store today and talked to the owner for a bit. He said he would not be able to upgrade the diamonds. He also didn’t have a brand for it, since he bought it wholesale, hence the cheap price. But, this also means it’s unique, and that if someone buys it, we’re SOL. So, I could put $500 down and have them hold on to it. But, what if she then found something else she liked!? Now i’m out $500. I totally don’t know what to do. I talked to my dad and Kari and they both agree that even if we looked at more, there’s a good chance she’s gonna be comparing those rings to this one, and that she’d most likely come back to this one.

I also took pics. I just realized in my first post I described her second favorite one. This is actually the one she liked the most. And she *really* liked it.

Hallucinate without drugs

Stare at the middle of the video, try not to blink, then look away when it says to. For the next 30 seconds or so, the object(s) of your focus should slightly change shape.

I promise this isn’t one of those things that screams and scares you. It’s very cool.
