is called a “peach”. Apparently they grow on tree’s and are good for you. Odd.
I am eating one right now.
Don’t tell Jeni.

Allen left for Afganistan on Friday. He called earlier this morning and we talked for about 10 minutes. He’s in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan just waiting for a storm to blow over so they can move in and replace whoever they’re replacing. They’ll be going to the Ghazni province.

Pretty uneventful weekend. But, I like it that way.
I [and Dave helped] painted that one wall of my bedroom. I wanted brown with a little green, the paint ended up green with a little brown. But, I looks pretty ok. I pulled the baseboard and the door border…thing. Left them white and borrowed dad’s staple gun and put them back on after both coats of paint were dry. I’m actually pretty happy with it. The patch job I did is only noticable if you’re looking for it. Tonight i’ll finish the ceiling patch job.
I also redid all the cables for my PC. Well, I tried. I came out two cables short. I’ll have to hit up Radio Shack this afternoon since Staples didn’t have the two I need: VGA extension and USB extension.
Jeni worked all weekend while Caleb was at his dad’s. She came over for a bit after work on Saturday and we talked for a while. I love talking to her. She’s extremely easy to talk to, plus, she likes to talk too, so I don’t have to carry the conversation, something i’m horrible at and therefore I hate doing. We talked about the house we’d like, her changing [or not changing] her last name when we get married, and what to do if the other is incapacitated. On Sunday they accidently scheduled three people to work, so the third person came in at 1300, and Jeni went home. About 3 minutes later, they called her back in to go work one of the other wings.
I didn’t get to see her.
I also fired the kid who does the lawn. He does a good job but it’s $15/week, and it’s winter and my grass is brown and not growing. Plus I need to save money. Also, his dad is annoying as shit. I’ve blogged him before, so i’ll not go into it again.
Tonight is Heroes, and Wednesday is a new episode of Lost. There are like 15 more in this season.. All in a row, too! Heroes has 13 more I think. And i’m still watching The Office and Scrubs.
Two Friday’s ago was dad’s last day out here at Echo Range. It’s kind of wierd not having him out here. Larry has taken his office and is getting all set up in there. I’m sure it will take a few more weeks of him being gone before it feels normal. I wonder if he still has the same phone number..?
Cliff’s notes: Nothing exciting is going on. Go back to sleep.
Ian got home from Iraq last night at 2200. At 0200 this morning, River Elise Terry was born.
That couldn’t have been planned if you tried!
“So, here are my ten favourite minimally designed blogs. Many of these are very well known, so this is not some journey into the unknown - it’s just my tribute to the sites I love and whose design I admire. Screenshots aren’t included on purpose: just go and check out the sites for yourself.”
